Wellness & Mental Health Awareness Night Returns to Superior

The School District of Superior, NAMI Lake Superior South Shore, Wisconsin, University of
Wisconsin-Madison Extension, Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition, and Essentia Health have once
again teamed up to host the 5th Annual Wellness & Mental Health Awareness Night.

On May 19 at Superior High School, the Superior-Douglas County community is invited for a free dinner, learn about important wellness and mental health resources, and hear from motivational speaker & mental health advocate Kody Green.

Superior is invited to experience more than 20 resource partnerships, along with the Hidden In Plain Sight Exhibit hosted by the Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition. These partner resources include:
• Encouragement Clinic
• Pathways to Hope

• Brightwater (HDC) – Project Reach Out
• And more!

“This is an incredible opportunity for our students and our families to learn about the crucial mental health
resources in our area,” said Chrissy Barnard, NAMI LSS Executive Director. “I’m really excited for our
community to hear from Kody Green. He has a unique perspective and offers some fantastic insight on
mental health.”

A free meal will be provided at 5:30 p.m., and the presentation with Kody Green will begin at 6:15 p.m. You
may watch the live stream on the School District of Superior’s YouTube channel. If you have any questions,
you may reach out to NAMI LSSS Executive Director Chrissy Barnard for more information.
