The University of Wisconsin-Superior Symphonic Band will perform its Inspired by America concert on Tuesday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Thorpe Langley Auditorium.
The program features works that depict American landmarks, such as the Cathedral Mountains in Texas and the Shenandoah Valley, and pieces composed or commissioned by American institutions and composers, including John Philip Sousa.
“One favorite is a piece titled Melodious Thunk, which draws inspiration from the legendary jazz composer and pianist Thelonious Monk,” said Steven Siegel, DMA, UW-Superior director of bands and trumpet. “This concert is suitable for all ages and promises to provide an entertaining evening for everyone in attendance.”
Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students. Thorpe Langley Auditorium is in Old Main, 1710 Weeks Ave. For questions or additional information, call (715) 394-8115 or email music@uwsuper.edu. Event link: https://uwsuper.edu/event/symphonic-band-concert-2026-03-03/
