The lush fairways of the Nemadji Golf Course are calling – and on August 8, 2025, golfers, business leaders and community members alike will answer. The Superior-Douglas County Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Play Day Golf Outing is back, promising a day full of camaraderie, networking and unforgettable fun. All are invited!
A beloved tradition in the region, specifically designed to bring the business community together, the Chamber’s Play Day is more than just a golf tournament – it’s a celebration of community spirit and connection. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer aiming for birdies or a beginner out to enjoy the sun and scenery, the event welcomes players of all skill levels for a day designed around getting together, having fun and having a few laughs.
The location is the beautiful Nemadji Golf Course. With 36 scenic holes winding through rolling hills and wooded landscapes, including lunch, dinner and refreshments, the great Nemadji staff always take care of our Play Day participants and the course provides the perfect backdrop for fostering new friendships and deepening existing connections while enjoying the game.
As players tee off late-morning, they’ll be greeted by the crisp summer air and the laughter of friends and colleagues. Throughout the day, teams will navigate the course’s challenges while participating in games, raffles and prize opportunities at various holes – each one adding a layer of fun and excitement to the event.
One of the highlights of the Chamber’s Play Day is its unique blend of leisure and networking. The outing brings together professionals, entrepreneurs and civic leaders from all corners of Superior, Douglas County and the Twin Ports Region. It’s an ideal opportunity to build relationships, exchange ideas and strengthen community ties in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
“There’s nothing quite like the Play Day outing when it comes to making genuine connections,” says Taylor Pedersen, President and CEO of the Superior-Douglas County Area Chamber of Commerce. “We see new friendships formed, partnerships sparked, and a real sense of community shared among participants every year. In addition, I always learn of at least ‘some type of business’ happening on the course each year!”
From local business sponsors hosting games on the course to Chamber ambassadors and volunteers cheering on teams, every hole tells a story of engagement, generosity and good old-fashioned fun.
While golf is the centerpiece, the Play Day experience extends far beyond the 18th hole. The event includes a delicious lunch, lively conversations at the clubhouse, dinner and a brief awards ceremony in the evening that celebrates the spirit of participation just as much as performance.
With a reputation for being one of the Chamber’s most anticipated events as one of our “Signature Events,” Play Day is often a fan favorite, so early registration is encouraged and early bird pricing will apply. The outing is open to Chamber members and non-members alike, and players can register as individuals or as part of a team.
