At Catholic Charities Bureau Diocese of Superior, community is not just a word; it is the foundation upon which all of our work is built. In 2024, the organization made an extraordinary impact on the lives of individuals and families across the region. Through dedicated services, a deep commitment to those in need, and a focus on building a compassionate community, Catholic Charities Bureau continues to be a vital resource for the most vulnerable in our society.
In 2024, Catholic Charities Bureau served more than 1,200 individuals & families. This number reflects not only the need for services but also the depth of compassion and commitment our staff bring to every person they serve. From seniors and individuals with disabilities to families facing hardship, Catholic Charities Bureau works tirelessly to provide support, care and a sense of belonging to all we serve.
One vital service offered by Catholic Charities Bureau is affordable housing. In 2024, we continued to operate more than 650 units of housing, providing safe, secure homes for individuals and families who might otherwise be without. These housing units serve low-income seniors, individuals with disabilities and those living with chronic mental illness. Offering them more than just a place to live, they offer a sanctuary where each person can find peace, dignity and stability.
Our commitment to housing goes beyond providing shelter. We understand that a home is only the beginning of the journey, and we work tirelessly to ensure that each person we serve hasaccess to the support services they need to thrive.
Beyond housing, Catholic Charities Bureau is also deeply committed to meeting the nutritional needs of those in our community. Through our affiliates and partnerships with local food organizations, we helped provide more than 422,000 meals in 2024. Food insecurity is a growing concern for many in our region, and Catholic Charities Bureau is proud to be part of the solution, working to help ensure that no one has to face hunger alone.
In addition to housing and food programs, Catholic Charities Bureau provided more than 385,000 hours of service in 2024. These hours represent a commitment to helping others. Every hour of service represents a personal connection, a conversation or a helping hand extended to someone in need. These efforts are vital in creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, no matter their circumstances.
What makes Catholic Charities Bureau truly unique is its focus on community at the core of all its efforts. We don’t simply provide services; we build relationships, foster connections and create an environment where people are not only supported but also encouraged to grow. The work we do is grounded in the beliefs of our social teachings; that every person is deserving of respect, dignity and care, and that through community, we can achieve lasting change.
As we look to the future, Catholic Charities Bureau remains focused on its mission to Improve the Human Condition and keep community at the core of everything we do. In 2025 and beyond, we will continue to serve those who need us most, whether through housing, food programs or the countless hours of service that help individuals navigate life’s most difficult challenges. Our commitment to building a stronger, more compassionate community will always remain at the heart of our work.
Catholic Charities Bureau Diocese of the Diocese of Superior is proud of the difference it has made in 2024, but we know there is always more to be done.
