In April, the St. Louis River Alliance had the honor of hosting paddlers from the Anishinaabe Canoe Migration at our first River Revival, where they shared their journey of reconnecting with ancestral waterways — from Chambers Grove to Woodstock Bay Landing. Learn more about their project here.
Right now, the team is practicing and gathering with a small number of borrowed canoes. It’s been a beautiful start, but as more people join in, access is becoming a real challenge. More canoes would mean more time on the water for more people and with fewer barriers to participate.
You can help! Donate a canoe in good, usable condition or connect them with someone who has an unused canoe. That will help grow a shared community fleet so more people can get on the water! Reach out to: anishinaabecm@gmail.com
