Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes to make an election happen? This September, the City of Superior Clerk’s Office is inviting residents to learn more about local election administration and help design the sticker voters will wear on Election Day.
The Clerk’s Office is launching a series of community engagement opportunities this fall, including two free “Local Elections: A Look Behind the Scenes” programs at the Superior Public Library and the City’s “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest.
Local Elections: A Look Behind the Scenes
The City Clerk’s Office and Superior Public Library will host a free two-part series giving residents an inside look at how elections are administered and introducing some of the people who make Election Day possible. Each program will include a presentation followed by an opportunity for questions from the public.
Wednesday, Sept. 9 | 5–6:30 p.m.
City Clerk Heidi Blunt and Douglas County Clerk Kaci Lundgren will walk participants through how local elections are administered — from preparation through Election Day and beyond.
Wednesday, Sept. 16 | 5–6:30 p.m.
Deputy City Clerk Dawn Bacon and City of Superior Election Inspectors will introduce residents to the people who make Election Day happen. Attendees will also learn how they can join the election team for the November election.
Both programs will be held at the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave., and are free and open to the public.
Help Design Superior’s Next “I Voted” Sticker
The Clerk’s Office is also asking Superior residents to put their creativity to work by designing the City’s next official “I Voted” sticker.
The contest is open to City of Superior residents of all ages, and both hand-drawn and digitally created artwork is welcome. Designs must include the words “I Voted,” be original and nonpartisan, and be suitable for reproduction as a small sticker. Residents are encouraged to incorporate inspiration from Superior, Wisconsin, elections, civic participation, or anything else that celebrates voting.
Entries are due Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. The winning design will be reproduced as an official City of Superior “I Voted” sticker and distributed to voters during the November 3 General Election.
Contest forms can be picked up at either the City Clerk’s Office or the Superior Public Library. Completed entries may also be dropped off at either location. Digital entries may be emailed to cityclerk@superiorwi.gov, and entries may also be mailed to the City Clerk’s Office, 1316 N. 14th Street, Superior, WI 54880.
